Stephanie Aguirre

I'm a photographer and graphic designer, and everything analog has always had a peculiar sense of magic that made me fall in love with it. I shoot concerts and the artists, using film for the portraits. Memory has obsessed me ever since a young age, keeping movie and museum tickets, silly notes from friends and when I saved for my first camera, film and photos, that later mutated becoming only pixels in my computer. I keep, or rather hoard, all these bits of memories because I’m afraid to forget. I take pictures, because I’m afraid I’ll forget everything I’m capable to see and experience. Lately I’ve been trying to link the impermanence and/or longevity of analog film and alternative printing techniques to how our memory works or stops working. I really enjoy experimenting and getting different results every time, always open to errors than can shape a photo or a project.
